- Lead the collection and management of data such as water use, waste generation, criteria air pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions. This includes collecting and compiling data from various sources, including accounting systems, project files, invoices, internet searches and direct communication with suppliers.
- Responsible for the organization's annual Scope 1 & 2 greenhouse gas reporting to the Blackstone Carbon Accounting Program.
- Responsible for the organization's annual third-party certification reporting to GRESB and EcoVadis.
- Lead annual certification process for all Carrix terminals certified by Green Marine.
- Support reporting requirements associated with company's engagement with the United Nations Global Compact.
- Support the ESG Grants and Program Manager to complete required project reporting, as well as quantification of environmental benefits of projects.
- Support the Sustainability Director to prepare and publish the annual Sustainability Report.
- Analyze data using statistical and data visualization tools to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders, including senior management, sustainability teams, and external partners.
- Perform return on investment analysis for capital expenditure (CapEx) and other projects and initiatives which are driven by sustainability goals and objectives.
- Maintain awareness of regulatory and industry requirements related to sustainability reporting and ensuring compliance with these requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resource management, sustainability or similar.
- 5 years of experience (a Master's degree may substitute for 2 years of experience).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience with data collection and project management.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience and strong interest in supporting ESG programs and company initiatives around sustainability.
- Marine terminal or transportation industry experience helpful, but not required.
- Exposure to computer screens.
- Required hybrid in-office work schedule.
- Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Occasional travel to our terminal locations.
