    Job Overview:

    Sanford Federal is looking for Health Care Technician to support the mission of the Pittsburg VA Healthcare System.

    Job Details:

    • Job Title:Healthcare Technician HCT
    • Location:VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHCS) UD Division, University Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15240
    • Schedule: Full time

    Requirements & Skills:

    • Must Be a certified nursing assistant or possess comparable certification in a related healthcare field including medical assistant, paramedic or emergency medical technician. PCT
    • Have documented training and skills verification.
    • Must Be trained and experienced in patient care.
    • Experience in Phlebotomy preferred
    • Must Have at least one-year experience working in direct patient care; ambulatory or emergency care preferred.
    • Must have and maintain a current Basic Life Support Certification.

    Tasks, Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Keeping patient rooms clean and organized.
    • Monitoring patient health and measuring vital signs.
    • Maintaining accurate patient records.
    • Assisting the healthcare team with administering treatments.
    • Collecting liquid samples or specimens for testing.
    • Performing basic nursing procedures such as administering medications.
    • Reporting any changes in patients' conditions to a registered nurse or physician.
    • Providing emotional support and assisting patients with basic needs such as dietary intake, grooming, and personal hygiene.
    • Maintaining close communication with the patient's healthcare team.
    • Assisting with the educating of patients' relatives regarding the required care.
