    Our Cary office is looking to add a Senior Process Engineer to the team.

    The Senior Process Engineer will work closely with clients, office leadership, and directs less experienced Engineers; Piping Designers; and CAD Designers in the generation of design documents per the Design Deliverables Matrix.

    Work products developed will vary with the project to meet specific client demands and include but are not limited to front end engineering design studies (feasibility through basis of design), throughput analysis, P&IDs, equipment specification, design coordination, process modelling, and the facilitation of various process workshops and design meetings.

    The Senior Process Engineer will be mentored by Lead and Principal Engineers within the greater DPS Team.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


    Advanced understanding of unit operations encountered in the field of Chemical Engineering with a special emphasis on those present in the Life Sciences field.

    Able to explain theory surrounding these elements and teach the concepts to others.
    Lead the development of engineering documents leveraging experience, good engineering judgement, and external resources. Responsible for overall technical accuracy of these documents and their alignment with client and project expectations.

    Work directly with the client and equipment vendors to develop equipment specifications and identify process equipment that will meet project demands.

    Coordinate construction activities at a high level; manage TBA, Submittals, RFI, and vendor activities.

    Understand and be able to develop advanced calculation templates based on the principals of chemical engineering and externally published resources.

    Support and actively contribute to discussions with cross-functional project team on the facility and process design being undertaken. Understand how the process design integrates with designs completed by other Engineering Disciplines.
    Manage small projects and project teams, including work activities of the full process team, budgets, and project schedule.
    Provide mentorship and on the job training to less experienced engineers on the Process Team.
    Support other Offices, Marketing, and Business Development as a Technical Resource.


    Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree, Chemical Engineering preferred. Mechanical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering degrees may also be suitable.6+ years of experience as a Process Engineer.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team, at times with remote locations, possible.
    Maintain excellent attention to detail, possess organizational, analytical, oral and written communication skills.
    Ability to multitask, establish priorities, and meet deadlines.
    Proficient in MS Office Suite, Bluebeam Revu, Navisworks and other Process Modeling Software.
