- Nursing Patient Assessment & Evaluation (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the ability to assess and evaluate patients in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Demonstrates sufficient acumen to recognize problems, ask questions and to contact the patient's primary care provider and other members of the healthcare team. Has experience in gathering pertinent clinical data that aid in referral, treatment, or other primary care pathways.

The Critical Care Registered Nurse Float will apply the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
The Float Critical Care RN effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to the health care team; collaborates in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes.

Float Pool Critical Care Nurses provide specialty services throughout the Vanderbilt University Medical Center Adult Hospital, including Critical Care units, PACU, ED, Step-Down, and Med-Surg areas.
Flexibility is a key job requirement for the Float Pool, as our highly skilled staff must be placed where the need is greatest.
Supplemental staffing provides a crucial service for our customers, not only to ensure safe quality patient care, but provides support for our unit colleagues as well.
You will be offered opportunities to expand your knowledge and maintain an expansive skill set which will enable to you to become a resource to others.
POSITION SHIFT:
PRN - minimum shift requirement of 4 shift/6 week schedule period, two shifts must be a weekend shifts (Sat or Sun / Sat and Sun consecutively).
