    Description

    Job Objective:

    Performs pipeline accounting for assigned affiliated companies that own and/or operate pipelines.

    Essential Job Responsibilities:

    • Gathers and reviews volumes from the measurement data system, third parties and affiliated parties.
    • Reviews pipeline tariffs and contracts.
    • Assembles source data and prepares monthly pipeline accounting invoices and statements for crude oil transactions.
    • Prepares, analyzes and records monthly operational accounting close and cash entries.
    • Monitors all pipeline accounting, including invoicing for crude oil sales and transportation fees, securing payment for all crude oil transportation. Reconciles and reports on profit/loss and pipeline imbalances.
    • Prepares pipeline inventory reconciliations.
    • Completes month end variance analyses and provides explanations by pipeline/asset for all revenue and operating expenses, comparing to prior month and to forecast.
    • Prepares monthly cash forecast.
    • Understands intrastate vs interstate oil movements and tariffs.
    • Performs special projects that require knowledge of oil pipeline operations accounting.
    • Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
    • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations.
    • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Three (3) to five (5) years minimum of operational accounting experience.
    • Strong knowledge of the oil and gas industry preferred.
    • Proficiency in data management including spreadsheet proficiency.
    • Ability to solve problems accurately.
    • Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and other departments.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Outstanding organizational skills.
    • Proficiency in the use and application of the following software:
    • Required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
    • Preferred: Strong working knowledge of SAP, Waterfield, Emerson and Flowcal

    Education Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year university or college with a degree in accounting or finance with a minimum of 15 hours of accounting course work.
