    Description

    The Associate Consultant will travel and work within an assigned territory to identify potential new customers as well as pursue further business with current customers by offering the full array of warehouse solutions and is responsible for managing all designated activities in the assigned territory and/or customer accounts. They will acquire new business by designing, presenting, and negotiating new customer solutions with a leading focus on new equipment and solutions. Objectives are to achieve maximum unit volume, market share penetration, profit return and customer loyalty from the selected and/or targeted accounts.

    Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

    • Gain a working knowledge of equipment lines and services- Propane, diesel and electric powered forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, swing reaches, side loaders, sweepers, warehouse racking systems, automation and other products and services.
    • Identify business opportunities at customer locations and make suggestions to customers about products and services-with a focus on new equipment.
    • Analyze market potential and trends, determine areas where company market share is weak and initiate action to improve market penetration amongst non-company users.
    • Build and maintain successful long-term relationships with new and current customers through in person and virtual communications.
    • Develop creative and tailored client proposals by working to identify customer pain points to provide warehouse solutions.
    • Present solutions and information effectively to improve material handling systems driving client decisions.
    • Negotiate effectively; clearly communicate goals, interests, and positions during customer discussions.
    • Create various financing options / terms to help a customer confidently agree to payment for the new solutions purchased.
    • Communicate with management regarding all pertinent activities of customer accounts to keep them abreast of all phases of account relationship progress.
    • Meet and track sales targets aligned with company objectives.
    • Work closely with respective Regional Solutions Manager, Solutions Consultant and GM on account planning and pricing decisions.

    Qualifications

    • Knowledge of industrial powered equipment and the material handling industry
    • Possess excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
    • Ability to plan and successfully explain various financing options to customers.
    • Must have demonstratable understanding of customers key business needs.
    • Must possess excellent oral presentation skills as well as strong written, and interpersonal communication skills.

    • Possess high self-motivation and persistency to overcomes obstacles.
    • Possess exceptional organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills.
    • Able to work efficiently with minimal guidance or supervision.
    • Travel as necessary

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelors degree
    • Preferred two years selling experience with demonstrated expertise in acquiring new business.
