03/04/2026 - Graduation from high school or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of experience in irrigation system maintenance and repair.
- Ability to utilize office technology to document assigned work, control inventories, initiate service orders, etc.
- Initiative and ability to work with minimal direction; sound judgment and decision making capabilities are essential.
- Knowledge of local codes for irrigation systems.
- Ability to utilize power equipment, heavy equipment, and hand tools appropriate to irrigation work.
- Must possess a valid driver license and a safe driving record and be able and willing to operate district owned vehicles.
- Bilingual and bicultural skills.
- Experience in coordinating projects and working with contractors.
- Knowledge about confined space and permit confined spaces.
- Reviews blueprints and plans prior to installing and repairing irrigation systems.
- Plans for irrigation installation and repair including determination of parts and materials and taking action to assure parts and materials are available when needed.
- Installs, inspects, upgrades, and maintains irrigation systems.
- Installs, tests, troubleshoots, irrigation booster pumps, and control devices.
- Sets, programs, and adjusts computerized and electronic components to accomplish a planned irrigation schedule.
- Cleans, adjusts, and repairs irrigation heads, plastic pipes, and devices.
- Excavates and refills trenches and drainage areas to install and repair irrigation systems.
- Coordinates with grounds staff and coaching to assure appropriate sequencing and scheduling.
- Performs routine grounds maintenance work.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Serves as an irrigation maintenance specialist responsible for operation, installation, inspection, and repair and maintenance of irrigation systems.
COMPENSATION:
Initial wage placement according to NCSD/OSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Retirement Plan Contributions:
North Clackamas School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. The district contributes the employer portion; there is also a mandatory employee portion. Upon eligibility, which is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position, the employee is required to contribute 6% to their employee portion, via payroll deduction. Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.
