Job summary
Tellers act as service representatives responsible for providing a variety of paying and receiving functions including processing deposits withdrawals loan payments cashiers checks money orders and cash advances. They are also responsible for balancing each day's transactions verifying cash totals establishing and building member relationships by identifying members' needs educating them about specific products or services enthusiastically cross selling Credit Union services. Tellers perform a broad variety of member services functions such as opening closing accounts renewing certificates assisting members with bookkeeping account maintenance resolving complex transactions independently referring members to branch leadership when necessary.
