- 3+ years of noninternship professional software development experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 7+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and handson systems engineering experience
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
- Software Development Expertise: Adept in professional software engineering practices throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence.
- Programming Proficiency: Proven ability to program in at least one modern programming language with a strong grasp of programming fundamentals.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field, demonstrating a solid foundation in computer science principles and methodologies, including relevant mathematical concepts.
- Cloud Expertise: Handson experience working with AWS products, including serverless and eventdriven architectures, with proficiency in designing, implementing, and managing cloudbased solutions for ensuring reliability, optimization, and scalability.
- Database Technologies: Experience with various database technologies, including relational databases (e.g., RDS, MariaDB) and nonrelational databases (e.g. DynamoDB, MangoDb), demonstrating expertise in data modeling, storage, and retrieval while ensuring data integrity and security.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear and concise articulation of technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences, fostering effective collaboration within diverse project teams.
- User Interface: Experience in frontend and web development using React and TypeScript, demonstrating proficiency in implementing usercentered design principles to create intuitive, responsive, and engaging user interfaces.
- Agile Methodology Exposure: Familiarity with agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum and Kanban, with an understanding of iterative development, continuous improvement, and adaptive planning principles.

The Facility Operation System Engineering team is looking for an individual with proven skills to invent, build and support tools in use by the global Facility Operations Center (FOC).
This team ensures that the FOC tools remain highly available while looking for new ways to increase speed and accuracy of the FOC's ability to respond to and remediate losses in datacenter resiliency.
The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of infrastructure, be able to provide clear and concise written and verbal communication, and a good command of various programming languages and internal Amazon tools.
This position will help ensure overall reliability and availability by interfacing with other teams and the FOC to drive new innovative projects while looking for ways to simplify existing tools and procedures to delight our customers.
