    SUMMARY:

    Develop corporate safety programs, monitor safety and health regulations and provide support to each work site and corporate personnel.

    Responsible for monitoring the working conditions of all work sites to ensure that all activity is compliant with state and federal safety regulations throughout the entire company.

    Enforcing company safety & health guidelines, inspecting workspaces and products to ensure they are up to safety standards, providing ergonomic guidance, as well as managing workers compensations and accident prevention plans.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Identify company safety training needs, develop and coordinate safety training programs.
    • Promote safety and health awareness through internal company communication, and training programs.
    • Create onboarding safety practices to ensure the safety and training of new employees.
    • Communicate with all Worker Compensation vendors and agencies, handling issues, communication and creation of quarterly reports for management.
    • Review any open Workers Comp claims and follow up as necessary.
    • Provide support to corporate and site personnel to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations.
    • Develop effective safety and accident prevention incentives, goals and measures.
    • Annual site Audit of all Safety practices, tools and resources.
    • Conduct accident and incident investigations, determining causes and making recommendations for corrective actions and/or preventive measures.
    • Train on Accident Investigation procedures and audit for compliance.
    • Attend all WISHA, OSHA and L&I walk thrus at all work sites.
    • Monitor lost-time injuries/illnesses and Workers Compensation Claims.
    • Create Light Duty Job Descriptions in conjunction with other departments.
    • Review each sites safety committee meeting minutes and safety inspection reports.
    • Manage MDS changes and compliance as well as the new tools and resources.
    • Address Safety and accident trends and work with sites and corporate to address.
    • Create and update all Safety forms, policies and handbooks.
    • Develop an Ergonomic program to keep the company in compliance.
    • Emergency Management practices to be implemented.
    • Create and manage Accident Prevention plans.
    • Support Transportation with DOT safety needs.
    • Coordinate CPR/1st Aid training for each work site.
    • Manage customers social accountability audits.

    COMPETENCIES:

    • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
    • Comfortable communicating with all levels within the organization
    • Knowledge of appropriate emergency protocols
    • Knowledge of Safety regulation in all states we operate
    • Effectively work in a team oriented environment
    • Ability to train others on safety rules and expectations
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Spanish speaking preferred

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • At least 5 years experience in the health and safety field is required
    • Degree in Safety, Health and Safety, Emergency Management, or other related field, or equivalent experience in a similar capacity
    • OSHA Certification is required

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Work long hours as needed during busy season, including weekends
    • Office environment, long hours sitting in front of a computer
    • Standing/walking for long period of time
    • 50% will be dedicated in traveling to other work sites
