Java Microservices Engineer with BloomReachPittsburgh, PA6+ month contract

We are looking for a talented Java Microservices Engineer with at least 2 years of BloomReach SME (Subject Matter Expert) experience to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA.

In this critical role, you will design, develop, and deploy robust microservices using Java, extending BloomReach's functionalities and integrations for our clients.

You will work closely with marketing teams to translate their social commerce strategies into technical realities within the BloomReach ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:
Microservices Architecture: Design, develop, and deploy scalable and maintainable Java microservices to enhance BloomReach's capabilities

BloomReach Expertise:
Utilize your comprehensive understanding of BloomReach's functionalities, APIs, architecture, and best practices to drive projects forward

Technical Work:
Handle imports and exports of CSV (to migrate to BigQuery), JINJA snippets, HTML templates, data quality analysis, and data quality exports in collaboration with data engineering

Operational Work:
Monitor customer communication pipelines, manage consistency across multiple BloomReach projects and environments, troubleshoot issues, and monitor data quality

Technical Problem-Solving:
Analyze complex marketing challenges and develop creative microservice solutions using Java and BloomReach

PI Integrations:
Integrate BloomReach with other marketing platforms and systems using Java and relevant APIs

Collaboration:
Work effectively with marketing and product teams to gather requirements and ensure solutions align with business objectives

Testing and Debugging:
Implement unit tests, conduct thorough testing of developed microservices, and troubleshoot any issues that arise

Qualifications:

Experience:
Proficient Java developer with a focus on microservices architecture principles

BloomReach Experience:
At least 2 years of BloomReach experience, with familiarity in technical tasks and operational support

Containerization:
Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).


Cloud Platforms:
Experience building and deploying applications on cloud platforms (GCP a plus)

DevOps Practices:
Solid understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in SQL and data management, JINJA or similar template programming languages, JavaScript, HTML, and report creation in BloomReach

Soft Skills:
Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
