    BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer for Hybrid Work opportunity in Redmond, WA

    Position Title: Senior Firmware Engineer

    Location: : Redmond, WA – Hybrid Role (3 Days a week)

    Anticipated Start Date: - ASAP

    Expected Duration: This is a contract duration and will go for potential extensions.

    Job Type: Contract

    Pay: $65.00/hr- $70.00/hr on w2

    Typical Day in the Role


    • Purpose of the Team:
    The team is responsible for firmware and software development for surface devices, windows drivers development, and integration and build development for the next generation of surface devices


    • Key projects:
    Embedded Firmware and Windows OS Drivers- growing window driver and window capabilities, seeing what system is causing issues and creation resolutions.


    • Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm:
    The role will consist of 10% meetings, 20% coding, and 70% bug triaging and windows dump analysis.

    Candidate Requirements


    • Years of Experience Required: 5-7 years of overall experience


    • Degrees or certifications required: No specific degree or certification will be required for the role.


    • Disqualifiers: Resumes showcasing less than 12 months of remaining access will not be eligible for the role.


    • Best vs. Average: The ideal candidate would have Experience debugging on windows, window driver framework, UMDF (user mode device framework).


    • Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on feedback from the team and meeting deadlines.

    Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience

    1. Minimum 3 years experience with debugging on windows.

    2. Minimum 1 year Working experience with debugging hardware/firmware/software interaction during board bring-up

    3. Minimum 3 years of experience with Windows Driver Development.
