Zachry Nuclear Engineering Inc is currently seeking a Designer II CivilStructural Mechanical for a direct hire position Position Synopsis Designer II CSM will be responsible to understand and develop structural diagrams such as pipe and conduit support configurations and details foundation designs equipment mounting details general arrangements fire stops and seals details process instrumentation diagrams PIDs piping plan and section diagrams and isometrics
- Participation in field walk downs as necessary to obtain measurements verify as built documentation and develop field sketches in support of plant modifications and design installations will occasionally be required Individual will communicate with project engineers and other disciplines to develop drawings resolve design discrepancies The ability to interface with the customer their construction representatives integrate designs satisfy their standards is a must for this position
- Other Required Qualifications minimum Excellent verbal written communication skills are required A demonstrated ability to direct drafting personnel on drawing assignments is required Proficient in AutoCAD MicroStation CAD software packages or an equivalent software package Microsoft Office software Word Excel etc competency in software applications for email databases Demonstrated technical knowledge of design practices codes standards applicable to structural components Position also requires working knowledge of mechanical design principles practices Effective time management skills are required position may involve working on several projects concurrently Ability pass security drug screening maintain unescorted commercial nuclear plant access Successful candidate require understand comply company policies procedures processes Overtime work travel client sites periods fieldoffice work Required individual exercise independent judgment develop designs minimal direction Design Supervisor Design Lead Engineering concurrent multiple projects Ability perform walk downs equipment industrial plant environment including climbing ladders heights carrying equipment 50 pounds accessing securitycontrolled areas entering confined spaces controlled hazardous e g high temperatures high radiation areas
