Summary

The Division of Nephrology is seeking a Nephrologist to add to their team in the Northern region at Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY and Health Alliance Hudson Valley in Kingston, NY. Candidates must be board certified or eligible in Nephrology and be able to obtain a New York State license.

Responsibilities include teaching, attending on the renal inpatient consult service, rounding on dialysis outpatients, and seeing outpatients. The candidate will participate in teaching, supervision, and clinical care activities of the division, including the nephrology fellows, as well as other teaching services as reasonably required by the Section Chief. Protected research time will be available. Experience in clinical research is preferable.

Medical Center is a quaternary care environment serving the Hudson Valley Region of New York and has one of the highest case mix acuity indices in the US. The Division Of Nephrology interfaces with the heart, liver, and kidney transplant program, trauma, surgical, cardiothoracic, and medical ICUs, bone marrow transplant and heart failure programs, as well as general inpatient and outpatient services. These interactions provide excellent opportunities to explore renal disease in a wide variety of acutely and chronically ill patients. In addition, the division has both home peritoneal and hemodialysis services and is planning to substantially expand the home dialysis services in the Poughkeepsie and MidHudson Regional area. A robust multimillion dollar telehealth service is part of the clinical backbone of available care and is used throughout the Westchester Health network
