The Assistant General Manager at the Residence Inn Auburn, ME is a vital position that helps the property excel with guest service, managing multiple departments that include but are not limited to: Housekeeping, Front Desk, Maintenance, and Food & Beverage.
The AGM ensures that every business day is executed to high regards in professionalism and Guest Service and is the acting Manager on Duty whenever the General Manager is not on property.
What does the Residence Inn Auburn Assistant General Manager Do?
· Assist the General Manager in the day-to-day operation of the hotel. From front of house to back of house operations.
· Oversee associates in the following departments: Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage.
· Welcoming guests and creating a welcoming environment for our guests.
· Resolve any arising issues with hotel amenities, service, and policies.
· Facilitate and delegate tasks to associates when needed.
· Set goals for departments and associates to achieve.
· Motivate self and associates in day to day, week to week and month to month hotel goals.
· Train associates in a variety of positions to enhance job skills and performance of hotel personnel
· Have a working knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and basic accounting skills to assist the General Manager in the Day-To-Day accounting at the Hotel.
· Monitor and partake in property upkeep and maintenance.
· Assist in covering call outs/absences when and if needed.
Job Requirements:
·_ Excellent Customer Service skills_. Our guests and our staff are the most important part of our everyday job. We ensure that our guests receive an amazing customer experience from the moment they step foot on property.
·Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Your staff will look to you for guidance, support and knowledge- we develop our team to be empowered and ensure a seamless guest experience for any of our guests. A few characteristic traits we will look for are: Fair, Consistent, Positive, Inviting, Professional, Attention to detail, Patience, and the ability to multi-task.
· Flexible hours: mornings, nights, overnights. You may be asked to work longer than a conventional 8-10 shift during certain timeframes. You may be asked to have shorter turn around times in between shifts.
· Resourceful: ability to take ownership of issue and come with a satisfactory resolution for the guest or associate.
· Willingness and ability to assist in any and all departments when and if needed. Support may come in many different ways, it will be up to you and the department head to establish what support will best serve your team.
· Communication skills: can communicate effectively with guests and staff.
Day-to-Day operations:
· Working knowledge and training of Brand standards
· Accounts Payable
· Accounts Receivable
· Support departments on daily and weekly needs and goals
Other Shared Responsibilities:
· Human Resources
· Daily Accounting
· Monitor and partake in property upkeep & Maintenance
· Monitor and partake in hotel upkeep & cleanliness
· Assist in Producing weekly schedule for all departments
Job Requirements:
· Must reside in commutable area, no relocation
· Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
· Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50, $60,000.00 per year
