    What youll do

    Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

    • Drive the development of hardware components for EV cameras, display systems, audio modules, and body control units from concept to production, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
    • Lead and manage a team of hardware engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
    • Collaborate with the Product Management team to define hardware requirements, specifications, and performance targets based on EV product objectives and customer needs.
    • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost-benefit analyses for proposed hardware solutions, making data-driven decisions and providing recommendations.
    • Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality components, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
    • Coordinate with the software engineering team to ensure seamless hardware-software integration, functionality, and user experience optimization.
    • Establish and maintain design verification and validation processes, including testing and analysis to ensure the reliability and performance of hardware components.
    • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in EV hardware technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and apply this knowledge to enhance product development processes.
    • Prepare progress reports, project updates, and presentations for senior management, effectively communicating project status, risks, and opportunities.

    Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. The role will be based in the Detroit, MI vicinity; applicants based in CA will be considered. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

    • Bachelor's or Masters degree Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
    • 8+ years of experience in hardware design and development, preferably in the automotive or transportation industry.
    • Demonstrated, progressive experience building and leading digital modeling teams with the ability to inspire, motivate, promote collaboration, and drive innovation.
    • Strong technical knowledge of hardware development for cameras, displays, audio systems, and body control modules.
    • Proficiency in using design tools such as Altium, Cadence, or similar PCB design software.
    • Familiarity with automotive industry standards and regulations, including ISO, IEC, and other relevant safety standards.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and attention to detail.

    Pay Transparency

    This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. The salary range listed represents the maximum and minimum starting base pay for this position as of the time of posting. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

    Initial base salary = $170,000-$200,000
