    In search of an MRI Tech for a clinic in Alpharetta, GA

    Hours:

    • Mondays and Fridays

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Responsible for providing MRI's ordered by the providers.
    • Responsible for quality MRI's to include correct sequences, correct images, and patient ID.
    • Maintains proper use of MRI equipment and PACS.
    • Proper use of computer for Business purposes only.
    • Communicates with the Imaging Supervisor with any concerns or operational questions/problems.
    • Establishes a professional relationship with the providers, co-workers and clinical staff.
    • Help clinical staff with PACS to include importing and burning of CDs.
    • Maintain file room duties when necessary to include filing, pulling, copying x-rays/MRIs, and checking in/out x-rays. All MRIs released should include MRI report.
    • Maintain ordering of MRI supplies when necessary.
    • Daily cleaning duties throughout the office.
    • Flexibility of work hours.
    • Review MRI pre-screen forms for scan clearance and contact provider and/or patient with any questions.
    • Work with Imaging Supervisor on any necessary tasks related to ACR accreditation
    • Attend MRI Department Meetings.

    Required Certification: Certification in radiology technology and specializing in MRI; Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in radiography and magnetic resonance imaging.
    Required Experience: Minimum one year experience in MRI.

    KNOWLEDGE:

    • Knowledge of the principles and practices of diagnostic MRI procedures.
    • Knowledge of how diseases and injuries are diagnosed and imaged radiographically.
    • Knowledge of human anatomy.
    • Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work.

    SKILLS:

    • Skill in operating a phone, computer, fax, and/or copy machine.
    • Skill in operating MRI machine and PACS system.
    • Skill in answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner and using a multi-line telephone system.
    • Skill in managing one's time and the time of others.
    • Skill in prioritizing workload for optimum job performance.
    • Skill in selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
    • Skill in understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem solving and decision making.
    • Skill in understanding patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families.
    • Skill intact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.

    ABILITIES:

    • Ability to lift and position patients for the type of MRI procedure required.
    • Ability to set up and operate MRI equipment.
    • Ability to clean, maintain, and make minor adjustments to equipment.
    • Ability to notice detail in drawings and differences in shapes and shadings.
    • Ability to keep and maintain records.
    • Ability to communicate effectively.
    • Ability to maintain favorable public relations.
