    Description

    The Infant Lead Teacher provides children with a safe learning environment, offering diverse and age-appropriate experiences that individualize and promote the development of all children enrolled.

    This position also is familiar with and supports the quality of care offered as outlined by the National Association of Young Children (NAEYC), Early Achievers, and Department of Youth and Family (DCYF).

    Duty:
    Oversee the safety and supervision of children in an infant classroom.


    Tasks include:

    • Ensure Washington State licensing (WAC) regulations, Early Achievers, and NAEYC standards are implemented and followed.
    • Ensure the health and wellness of infants through adherence to center policies.
    • Communicate issues regarding safety, active supervision, and other regulatory concerns with center director and manager.
    • Maintain ongoing communication with assistant teacher regarding safety, supervision and classroom management expectations.
    • Maintain daily sanitation and cleanliness according required regulations.

    Duty:
    Implement daily activities and routines for indoor and outdoor learning environments.


    Tasks include:

    • Design and maintain a classroom environment and daily routine that meets the individual needs of children based on standards set forth by Early Achievers, NAEYC, and DCYF.
    • Conduct and document daily and ongoing observations, screenings, and assessments to promote an individualized and developmentally appropriate, supportive and safe environment.
    • Plan and implement a weekly curriculum inclusive of lessons and activities surrounding health, safety, nutrition, and developmental goals.
    • Execute approved classroom management strategies to maintain activities and routines while maintaining in the adult to child ratio expectations of 1:4 set by DCYF
    • Provide infant feedings and mealtimes in accordance with licensing and USDA regulations, Early Achievers, DCYF and NAEYC standards.
    • Use remote platforms inclusive of CANVAS, Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG), and Ready Rosie to connect with families regarding early learning activities and child observations.

    Duty:
    Maintain ongoing communication with families of a diverse background being empathetic to the life experiences of families


    Tasks include:

    • Communicate and collaborate with families on partnership goals, assessment results, referrals and ongoing cross-component activities.
    • Initiate and conduct the process, planning and implementation of transitioning children between classrooms.
    • Conduct quarterly conferences in the environment most supportive to the family, including at the center or using a remote platform like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
    • Communication with families will be made using the college provided phone system and email address as well as the REMIND application to support text messaging to ensure personal contact information remains confidential.
    • Address concerns/issues of infants in partnership with families, classroom staff and Center Director.

    Duty:
    Provide support for Early Care and Education students, work study students, and volunteers.


    Tasks include:

    • Role model appropriate language and interactions between children and adults.
    • Coach and mentor students in accordance with center policy and industry best practices
    • Collaborate with ECE Coordinators regarding student learning objectives, behaviors, and on-going progress.

    Duty:
    Clerical and college support, professional development and other duties as assigned


    Tasks include:

    Participate in professional development opportunities and program-wide goals according to Early Achievers, DCYF, NAEYC, and CPTC in various delivery methods including in person and remotely.


    • Encourage family engagement and involvement with center activities supporting their child's learning experience and parental education opportunities.
    • Maintain records and documentation according to Early Achievers, DCYF, NAEYC, and center standards on an ongoing basis.
    • Attend and actively participate in department and division meetings and college events. Serve on committees as needed/requested by Director and Center Manager.
    • Respond to emails and phone calls in a timely manner.
    • Maintain required certifications for licensing.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director and Center Manager.
    • Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education
    • Experience working at a licensed childcare center
    • Degree in Early Childhood Education
    • Two years of experience working at a licensed child care center with infants
    • Knowledge of NAEYC standards and Early Achievers objectives.

    Our History

    Clover Park Technical College is located in Lakewood, Washington.

    Our college has a rich history of professional and technical education dating back to the 1940s, when Clover Park School District established a War Production program, training civilians as auto mechanics, aircraft-service mechanics, ship-fitters, welders and blueprint readers.

    Now, CPTC offers more than forty programs in Aerospace, Advanced Manufacturing, Health Sciences, Human Services, Business, Hospitality, Science Technology, Engineering, Transportation and Trades.
