    Description

    Purpose of this Job:

    This role is responsible for promoting SANDEN electric compressor product to OEM customers towards new business acquisitions. This role also ensures SANDEN product development meets OEM technical requirements and program milestones.

    Principle Duties/Essential Functions:

    • Lead new business acquisition by coordinating internal activities with cross-functional teams, and work with OEM customers to ensure customer satisfaction.

    • Lead internal / external review meetings for product development, industrialization and quality.

    • Ensure successful compressor applications in NA market. Drive DFMEA, ADVPR and DRBFM reviews and executions.

    • Ensure meeting customer technical requirements, program milestones and smooth product launch.

    • Research on technology trends and voice of customer and provide feedback to R&D team.

    • Develop and nurture technical relationships with OEM customers.

    Other Tasks/Responsibilities:

    • Achieves departmental strategic plans and goals

    • Recommends innovative product features for next generation product design

    • Develops and evaluates new technologies

    • Establishes and achieves technical goals and task utilizing Plan/Do/Check/Action (PDCA) tool for product development

    • Coaches / mentors / trains other engineers and staff members.

    • Lead to close technical issues and implement design changes as needed.

    • Establish technical presentation material and present to customers as needed.

    • Secure accuracy of engineering data for internal and external customers.

    • Represent and promote Sanden in SAE and other trade shows.

    • Other projects as assigned by management.

    Requirements

    Education:

    • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (BSEE preferred)

    • Masters' Degree in Engineering preferred

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

    • 5+ years experience in automotive electrical design & control software/hardware development & applications, vehicle & testing & diagnostics, including expert knowledge of CAN / LIN communication
    • Strong communication and presentation skills:
    • Experience communicating with customers
    • Experience working with international teams
    • Experience with PCB and all different types of electrical components including MOSFETS, IGBT, and Power Supplies
    • Working knowledge of electric vehicle thermal management systems is preferred
    • Working knowledge of mechanical compressors, especially scroll compressors is preferred
    • Working knowledge of current computer technology and applications such as CAE and MS Office applications
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills with internal and external customers
    • Knowledgeable of ISO-9001, ISO-14001 and IATF procedures
    Licenses or Certifications:

    • EPA-608 desired

    • EPA-609 desired

    Physical Demands:
    • Routine lifting of 25 lb. compressors may be necessary
    • Possible exposure to high noise levels
    • Possible exposure to chemicals (oils, refrigerants, solvents)
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and be able to prioritize workloads
    Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

    • Employee must regularly wear safety glasses, safety shoes and hearing protection

    • Other PPE may be required based on specific projects

    Work Environment/Hours:

    • Primary work area is located in an office setting

    • Must work normal office hours plus provide support on evenings and weekend (as needed)
