- Plans and lays out work from blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, and work orders in
- Examines aircraft sheet metal structures to locate cracks, breaks, boles, bulges, dents, and loose or missing rivets.
- Prepares various surfaces of interior and exterior aircraft sheet metal structures by mechanically and chemically removing old paint and rust, filling cracks, sanding, and applying fillers and base coats.
- Repairs, modifies, and manufactures honeycomb adhesive bonded composite aircraft structures that have contours that must be reestablished or that require the manufacture of a mold using the available part or pattern.
- Uses and maintains tools. Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
