Description

A specialized periodontal practice in Plymouth is currently in search of a full-time Dental Hygienist. As a Dental Hygienist, you should possess reliability and the ability to establish trust with patients across all age groups. Deep familiarity with pertinent health and safety protocols, coupled with a keen eye for identifying oral diseases and irregularities, is essential. If you exhibit a steady hand and exceptional bedside manner, we eagerly await the opportunity to meet you
The schedule for this position is as follows:

Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: 8am - 5pm (Patient care beginning at 9am and ending at 4pm)
Friday: 8am - 3pm (Patient care beginning at 9am and ending at 2pm).

Responsibilities:

Performing initial mouth screenings and reviewing oral health history.
Detecting conditions such as gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis.
Conducting tooth cleaning procedures and aiding in the protection of patients' dental health (e.g., plaque removal or fluoride application).
Educating patients on proper periodontal care, including demonstrating effective brushing techniques.
Providing post-operative or post-procedure instructions to patients.
Conducting X-rays or dental impressions as needed.
Ensuring patients feel maximally comfortable prior to their examination.
Thorough sterilization of dental instruments.
Assisting dentists in selecting appropriate treatments for various dental diseases, including oral cancer.
Maintaining accurate documentation and patient charts.
Monitoring inventory of supplies.

Skills Required:

Preferred experience, though not mandatory.
Comprehensive understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to this profession (e.g., HIPAA).
Experience in the setup and maintenance of dental equipment.
Exceptional communication abilities.
A patient-oriented and amicable demeanor.
Attention to detail.
Physical stamina to meet the demands of the role.
Diploma in Dental Hygiene; a Master's degree is advantageous.
Valid license for practice.

Job Type: Full-time.
Pay: $40.00- $45.00 per hour.
