    Job Description / Essential Elements:

    PRIMARY ACTIVITY:

    Under the direction of the Executive Director identifies pupils with communicative disorders and selects cases according to appropriate criteria; provides speech/language services to identified students as per students' IEP's; assists in function of Program Assessment Team meetings; employs assessment procedures, techniques and speech tests necessary for thorough and accurate diagnosis of receptive and expressive language functioning of individuals; communicates effectively with classroom teachers, administrators, parents, and students in a cooperative manner; is flexible and a team player; ability to write computerized IEP's; plans and conducts appropriate teacher-parent conferences; acquaints staff and parents with school services; performs other related duties as assigned by Executive Director.


    PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS


    Physical Demands:


    While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to consistently sit for periods of time; talk or hear, in person and by telephone; use of hands and fingers to touch, feel or operate standard office equipment including technology, and reach with hands and arms; walking level surface, stand, bend and stoop; lifting objects 1-25 pounds; carry/push 1-25 pounds; specific vision abilities required include close vision to read and enter data into a computer; ability to distinguish sounds in transmission, speaking.



    Mental Demands:


    Stress of deadlines, stress of interpersonal conflict, normal work standards stress, ability to work with interruptions, concentrate for long periods of time, reading, interpreting codes, laws, policy, calculate, perform routine math processes, memorize and recall objects, people, analyze problems and generate alternatives, reconcile apparent ambiguities, solve multi-variant problems.
