    Electrical Engineer

    (Advancing) to work alongside other talented engineers & designers dedicated to engineering excellence on a wide range of projects involving complex building and campus systems.

    The Opportunity


    Perform necessary engineering functions required for the project to include electrical power service and distribution, branch circuits, indoor and outdoor lighting and lighting controls, fire alarm systems, telephone and data infrastructure wiring, audio/visual systems, and miscellaneous electrical and control systems.

    Perform field inspections to verify existing site conditions and develop project requirements.
    Collaborate with the electrical Drafter/Designer on the production of construction documents (drawings and specifications)
    Effectively coordinate with internal and external members of the design team.
    Research commercially available equipment and selecting equipment appropriate for project/client needs.

    Solve problems of a complex nature, with oversight from a more experienced Engineer, in both the design and construction phases of a project.

    Under the direction of a more experienced Engineer perform project management activities that can include reviewing and updating the budget, preparing and updating a project schedule, and establishing project communications, standards and files as necessary.

    Assist construction progress through shop drawing review, responding to request for information (RFIs), and performing inspections of construction progress.

    The Required Capabilities And Credentials

    B.S.E.E. from an accredited university or equivalent experience required. Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred.

    2-5 years of relevant electrical engineering design with a preferred focus on building power, lighting, and systems projects for commercial, institutional, and healthcare facilities.

    Experience selecting equipment and troubleshooting systems.
    Knowledge of the electrical construction trade, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and of the National Electric Code (NEC).
    Proficiency in MS Office - specifically Excel, OneNote, Outlook and Word.
    Relevant experience using Bluebeam and industry specific software such as SKM, Aspen, and/or EasyPower.
    Proven ability to read and understand both 2D and 3D drawings.

    Working Conditions/Physical Demands


    Work environment is primarily indoors at firms' facility, with approximately 10% of time spent indoors/outdoors at project or construction sites where hard-hat and other safety gear is often required.

    (PPE is provided by firm.)

    While performing field work associated with this position employee will be required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and carry and/or climb ladders of varying heights.

    The employee may lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
