Position Summary:

The Department of Security and Computing in the College of Arts & Sciences at Campbell University is seeking a full time (9 month) faculty member to serve as a tenure-track assistant or associate professor of information technology and security (ITS) to begin in August of 2024 on the University's main campus in Buies Creek, North Carolina. Rank and salary are dependent on credentials and experience. Additionally, the ranks of visiting instructor, visiting assistant or associate professor will be considered.

Teaching responsibilities will include a range of lower and upper-level undergraduate ITS courses in support of the ITS and Cybersecurity degree programs. In addition to teaching, the successful applicant will be expected to work toward maintaining a strong ITS program, to regularly engage in scholarly activity, to serve on university and departmental committees, and to aid the department in other functions such as assessment and student advisement. Additionally, candidates must support the mission of the University.

Education/Experience:

A PhD in information technology, information systems, information/computer security, computer science, or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred. A master's degree with 18 graduate credit hours in one of the aforementioned fields and practical experience will be considered. The successful applicant will have a record of (or potential for) outstanding teaching at the undergraduate level, the ability to relate well with students, and the ability to teach students with a wide range of aptitude.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Teach courses at the introductory, intermediate, and advanced levels in a variety of topics within information technology and security.
Maintain relevant field knowledge of current/best practices and other scholarly activity.
Direct senior projects.
Advise majors.
Assist in the development of curriculum as needed.
Serve on department, college, and/or university committees.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with students, colleagues, and the public.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Comprehensive knowledge of computer languages, software, and other technology relevant to the content area.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels.

Ability to work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
