- ABR certification or documentation of passing core component of the ABR examination

- Experience as a pediatric radiologist in a high-volume Radiology department

- Candidates must have a current license to practice medicine in Virginia or the ability to qualify for licensure

The mission of the Department of Radiology is to create a world-class department by providing optimal care in a patient-centered environment, providing sub-specialty expertise, providing top quality imaging and therapeutic procedures, and to advance medical education and research, with a vision to create a department that is recognized as top tier nationally and internationally.
Chief Purpose of this position:
The Department of Radiology at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), in conjunction with the Children's Hospital of Richmond (CHoR), is currently seeking a leader in the field of Pediatric Radiology to serve as the Director & Section Chief of Pediatric Imaging, joining our existing group of 4 Pediatric Radiologists, all of whom have either attained their Certificates of Additional Qualification from the American Board of Radiology or are eligible to do so.
This full-time pediatric radiology position will provide specialized diagnostic radiology - pediatric imaging interpretation, including CT, MRI, US, fluoroscopy, and radiographs excluding interventional radiology and nuclear medicine, with the use of state-of-the-art equipment.
Position Responsibilities:
Teaching - Provide training to medical students, residents and fellows, who rotate through the Department of Radiology.
Research- Continue to promote professional relationships with all Pediatric sub-specialties to foster interdisciplinary research.
Service - Time and effort is expected to be devoted to academic service-related activities. This shall include college, school, and departmental committee work, professional growth, and other such assignments.
Clinical - Provide high quality sub-specialized imaging interpretations for assigned modalities in support of the referring physicians and patients of the VCUHS.
Leadership - Provide leadership for the Pediatric Imaging Section in the role of Section Chief.
Activities include but are not limited to:
optimization of clinical service, provision of mentorship to junior faculty, and collaboration with General Pediatrics and the Pediatric sub-specialties.
