    Minimum 1+ years visually impaired experience required.

    Location: Highland Park, IL (Itinerant; serving Northbrook, Glenview, Lake Forest, Deerfield)
    Discipline: Teacher of the Visually Impaired with O&M (Orientation & Mobility) license
    Dates: August 19, June 6, 2025
    Hours: 35 hours per week

    Caseload/Details:

    • Weekly vision services for 5 students requiring direct vision services (5th - 12th grade).
    • Approximately 7 additional students with consult, generally 1 check-in per month (1 Elementary School and the rest Middle and High School).

    Number of Positions: 1

    Requirements:

    • Professional Educator License for students PreK-12 with endorsement for students with visual impairments.
    • Dual certification for Teacher of the Visually Impaired and Orientation & Mobility Specialist.
    • Bachelor's or Master's Degree.
    • Experience working with school-aged children.
    • Experience working as part of a team.
    • Ability to travel between sites.
    • Experience with Expanded Core Curriculum and children with multiple impairments.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments, including those requiring Orientation & Mobility services.
    • Develop and implement individualized educational plans for each student.
    • Collaborate with other professionals, families, and community resources to support student learning and development.
