Job Description Summary

GE Aerospace in Beavercreek has 2 facilities.

One facility manufactures gas turbine tubes, ducts, and manifolds, and also has complex machining, fabrication and investment casting capabilities. Product engineering, new product development and testing is performed on site. This facility also does repair and overhaul of tubes, ducts and manifolds.

Just down the street in the Dayton Cores and Castings (DCC) facility is a GE Aerospace manufacturing shop that makes HPT Airfoil Cores and Castings.

We

develop the leading edge of airfoil technology to deliver value through new product introduction and manufacturing industrialization.

Job Description

Wages are $ $23.79 per hour based on experience.
Additional $1.50

Premium

Pay for 2rd shift

Initial training will be on 1st OR 3rd Shift

Essential Responsibilities:

Set up, operate, edit, and program a variety of computerized machines, such as Furnaces, Lasers, Robots, Coherent General (8-Axis), Presses and/or Benders to customers' specifications and drawing requirements.

Test new tooling and/or dies and makes recommendations for modifications.
Perform regular preventative maintenance

and e

nsure tools are accurately calibrated prior to use
Operate machine(s) in a prescribed safe manner.
Train and work with all areas of the Cell to run other processes as needed.
Will use a computer daily (checking email, viewing/downloading shop drawings and instructions)

Job Requirements:
Ability to use standards shop measuring devices (calipers and micrometers)
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Ability to exert 10 pounds of force frequently.

May occasionally exert 20 to 50 pounds of force (with assistance, if needed).
Ability to stand up to 8 hours/day

Qualifications/ Requirements:
High school diploma or GED
A minimum of six months experience in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Technical Trades, or equivalent relevant work history

Education or experience in programming and operations in programmable controllers
Team Player and willing to operate in a professional environment

Excellent attendance and punctuality history and availability to work overtime as needed
Able to work effectively when receiving general supervision (This involves performing routine assignments alone.)

You'll be operating and working around moving machines – stand-up forklifts, mobile carts, cranes, etc. Due to normal machining operations there may be dust, fumes, or smoke (not over OSHA Permissible Exposure Levels (PEL)).
