Description
JOB TITLE:
SECURITY ENGINEER
LOCATION:
ST. LOUIS, MO
Conduct risk assessments and investigations, execute appropriate risk mitigations, develop playbooks, and participate in incident response activities (training and actual)
Review security violation reports and investigate possible security exceptions
Provide technical security advice and apply best practices across the enterprise
Assist with the conduct of security audits. This includes participating in developing and implementing Plan of Action & Milestones
Collaborate with other IT teams to remediate 3rd party penetration and vulnerability action items
Evaluate, recommend, and implement IT security tools, procedures, and practices to protect information assets and improve cybersecurity posture
Stay updated on the latest security threats, technologies, and industry trends, and provide recommendations for improving security posture
Interface with internal and external personnel to implement and to ensure understanding of compliance and cybersecurity requirements
Maintain relationships with security vendors and maximize return on investment of acquired products
Coordinate and monitor the delivery of a periodic cybersecurity awareness-training program for end users
Assist in the development and support of security policies and procedures
Ability to create and track relevant metrics for continuous improvement
The candidate will be working with various security tools and vendors:
Microsoft Security, Meraki firewalls, Zscaler, Data Protection/Encryption, systems management, AV, Carbon Black Protect, SecureWorks, and others.
Qualifications
3-5+ years of previous security or similar experience required
Exposure to security Frameworks like NIST or ISO
Hands-on and in-depth knowledge and experience with IT Infrastructures
Experience with government security compliance desired, Information Technology, or related field.
Skills Required
Familiar with security event logging and vulnerability scanning tools
Experience with managed security system providers preferred
High level of professionalism with robust problem-solving capabilities
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively and efficiently with people at all levels in the organization, both inside and outside of technology
Ability to work independently while meeting delivery deadlines and delivering an exceptional client experience
Strong organizational capabilities with a drive for continuous improvement
Develop and provide training to educate users regarding cybersecurity best practices
Ability to pass a government background check
