    thelab is looking for a Senior Creative Strategist - Performance Marketing to join our team. The ideal applicant has 5-8 years of ad agency strategy experience with deep expertise in social media with a focus on paid media - not a Brand Strategist. We are looking for someone who can jump right into the mix, who isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves, take charge and have a big voice. This role will be an integral part of our agency, providing support directly to our Executive Creative Director and the rest of the creative marketing team.

    About the Role:

    The Senior Creative Strategist will lead key projects and strategies, and head up the most critical parts of the creative process. Their role will encompass:

    • Research
    • Developing a testing strategy
    • Creating an iteration roadmap
    • Forming testing hypothesis
    • Writing tactical briefs
    • Informing content production
    • Executing strategic creative testing
    • Leveraging creative results to inform future testing
    • Implementing both short and long-term strategy for multiple clients

    This individual will be responsible for ensuring we are following creative best practices and adhering to a testing methodology that is strongly rooted in data. This role will be key to helping our clients unlock aggressive business growth by helping us deliver the right creative at the right time- spanning digital, social, and more.

    They will be comfortable digging into digital analytics and marketing tools (we use Motion) to pull insights, learning and new concept ideas to deliver ROI and translate those metrics into optimization strategies that drive performance improvement.

    This role is equal parts creative and analytical, bridging the gap between media, our creative team, and clients and is a discipline we are excited to expand, with the potential of this role to oversee more junior strategists.

    About You:

    • 5-8 years in-house or top-tier agency experience with a proven track record of leading performance creative strategy across paid media channels
    • A trusted partner for our clients who can guide them with paid and organic social strategies that help them achieve their marketing and business goals
    • Works well across capabilities (creative, media, analytics), engaging with the larger team to create the overarching brand and social strategies that wow our clients
    • Deep expertise of the digital landscape and knowledge of platform-specific best practices on Meta, YouTube, TikTok and additional/emerging platforms
    • Strong experience in growth/performance marketing campaign development and execution
    • Demonstrable experience directing work with influencer or UGC creators
    • Ability to manage the implementation of a strategic campaign within the social media space
    • Proven analytical ability - you can digest data and turn insights into actionable creative strategy that drives growth. You are comfortable operating across spreadsheets and storyboards and enjoy using data to tell a story
    • Demonstrated history of achieving and exceeding paid and organic social media campaign goals
    • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, and can summarize insights to create easy-to-understand client-facing reports
    • Experience creating and implementing long-term testing and optimization practices
    • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a consistent "can-do" attitude, seeing ambiguity as a challenge and not a deterrent
    • Strong attention to detail and a proven ability to manage multiple work streams at once

    Job Details:

    • Hybrid work environment - Tues/Wed in the DUMBO Brooklyn office
    • Salary $130,000-$150,000 will ultimately be decided at the offer stage, based on an individual candidate's level of skills and experience aligned with the needs of this role
