    POSITION SUMMARY

    Technical, skilled work involving a high degree of organizational skills, the expeditious, efficient, and safe movement of Event Center assets (material and equipment) from the warehouse to the interior of the building or the Event Center grounds in support of our paid events. Responsibilities include the maintenance of perpetual inventory, annual inventory, and receiving of material and equipment for stock and/or distribution. Collaborates closely with the Event staff in the daily operations of the warehouse in support of their equipment needs. Receives materials from common carriers, distribution of stock, and oversees the maintenance of all Event Center vehicles located within the warehouse. Safely operates said vehicles during daily work, and other inventory and/or vendor-related responsibilities. Facilitates the development of public trust and confidence in the City.

    THIS POSITION REQUIRES A FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULE, INCLUDING EVENINGS, WEEKENDS, AND HOLIDAYS.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Keeps the mission, vision, and values of the City of Port St. Lucie at the forefront of decision-making and action; builds strategic and collaborative relationships and interacts with others in a way that builds confidence and trust; provides excellent customer service by taking action to accomplish objectives, maintains high levels of work and productivity by generating innovative solutions to work situations.
    • Enters data for all issued and received items into a computerized inventory system. Utilizes computer and software applications utilized by the department.
    • Receives materials and supplies delivered to the warehouse; counts and checks goods against invoice and delivery receipts and accepts or declines delivery. Ensures that shipments/goods reach their intended recipient.
    • Reports any damages or loss of inventory.
    • Identifies, labels, and stores materials received in designated locations.
    • Maintains a detailed inventory of all items in and around the warehouse.
    • Responsible for the bi-annual inventory of all parts, tools, equipment, vehicles, event-related assets (chairs, tables, stage components, linens, etc.) and provides Operations Administrator with reports and necessary recommendations based on the status of items on the inventory list that may impact the successful operation of the Event Center.
    • Suggests efficiency improvements for the use of items and storage of equipment.
    • Develops organizational storage method for all items in and around the warehouse separating frequently used items from less frequent, along with corresponding department items..
    • Prepares and stages event-related items such as chairs, tables, stage components, etc. in support of the Event staff. Aides in the orderly transfer of this equipment between the warehouse and the main building or Event Center grounds.
    • Ensures cleanliness of the warehouse and surrounding storage yard, performs manual storage yard maintenance, and maintenance requiring the utilization of equipment.
    • Operates forklift and other material handling equipment while always practicing the requisite safety procedures and/or protocols.
    • Loads and unloads vehicles with appropriate equipment.
    • Maintains all warehouse-related vehicles. Ensures that they are charged and in good working order. Coordinates service for these vehicles.
    • Operates hand and power tools and is responsible for their organized storage.
    • Assists Event staff with sets up (tables, chairs, risers, stage, pipe and drape, audio, and other equipment; vacuums, sweeps, and cleans) and tears down equipment for events.
    • Provides a high level of customer service and general support to Event staff and/or our customers.
    • Works any shift, including overnights, weekends, and holidays.
    • Demonstrates continuous effort to improve overall warehouse operations to decrease event set-up and tear-down times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer service.
    • Other duties may be assigned.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
    Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalent diploma is required. Minimum of one (1) year experience with warehouse operations or similar work-related experience required, Experience with performing physical tasks and maintenance duties in a similar facility required. Familiarity with small power tools, AV devices, and equipment used in set-up and tear-down of events preferred. Possession of Valid Florida Driver's License and maintenance of clean driving record required.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. This position is very active and will require more moving about than sitting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
