Description
Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C. is hiring a Field Machinist/Welder in Princeton, West Virginia for weekend shift. The Field Machinist/Welder position is responsible for welding and machining parts on frames, work tools, attachments, bores, undercarriage, engines, hydraulic systems, related power train systems, structural repairs and custom fabrication on customer job sites/locations, or in the shop. Seeking candidates with a minimum one year field machining experience on heavy equipment and components with portable machines. Experience in salvage related field machining/welding, and experience operating manual and portable machines, a plus. High school diploma or GED required. MSHA certification for mining sites. Machining and welding certifications preferred. Certificate of technical training and/or knowledge in machining and welding.Requirements for the Field Machinist/Welder position include:
Physical requirements must be met for the Field Machinist/Welder job, including the ability to lift, carry and maneuver items up to 70 pounds, including bulky objects. This position requires repeated reaching, standing, stooping, kneeling, bending and climbing beside, onto and under a variety of heavy equipment. Must be able to work outside in inclement weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, dampness and humidity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Additional duties may be assigned.
