    Job Summary

    Work as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a dynamic and challenging environment, providing high-quality care to complex patient populations across various medical and surgical general care units and intermediate care (IMC) units. This role requires flexibility, critical thinking, and effective communication skills to evaluate and assess patients, recognize complications, and administer appropriate nursing interventions.

    About the Role

    • Float across multiple departments and specialties, caring for diverse patient populations.
    • Utilize critical thinking skills to provide evidence-based care, recognizing and escalating complications, and administering appropriate nursing interventions.
    • Partner with multidisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care, honing interpersonal communication skills and delegating tasks effectively.
    • Serve as a mentor and role model, precepting new nurses and students, and contributing to strategic planning efforts, quality improvement, and Shared Governance.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
    • Six months of nursing experience or current participation in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program required.
    • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact upon hire.
    • Current CPR/BLS Certification upon hire.
    • ACLS within 6 months.

    Estimated Salary

    $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
