We are currently assisting a large, reputable company based in Richmond, VA with its search for an
Accounting Manager.

The Accounting Manager will report up through the Controller's Department, work closely with a strong team, and will have significant exposure to executive management.

The company has a very strong, team-oriented culture and offers opportunities for development and growth.

The company is working a hybrid schedule, including 2-3 days onsite in the office every week, and is only considering candidates local to Richmond, VA or interested in moving to the Richmond, VA area.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in monthly closing and financial consolidation processes across all division locations, including recording of certain journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Compile and analyze balance sheet monthly, research balance sheet items and income/expense fluctuations.
• Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Initiate and document internal controls and quarterly review procedures over financial accounts to ensure accuracy.
• Provide ad hoc financial reports and analysis as requested.
• Prioritize projects and drive new finance transformation requirements to completion.
• Respond to internal and external requests, including working with external auditors
• Assist with auditor requests; and completion of ad-hoc projects from Controller and Finance Director as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related: CPA or MBA preferred
• 5+ years of relevant experience in public accounting or corporate accounting
• Proficiency in US GAAP and understanding of internal controls
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel and related financial systems/ERP systems
