    Description

    Overview:

    The Distribution Supply Chain specialist is responsible for replenishment of inventory for a distribution center via creation of shop orders, intersite replenishment orders and supplier purchase orders. This position will perform at times, standard production scheduling tasks and purchasing activities. This position will proactively identify and resolve capacity and resource constraints and will take appropriate actions in order to achieve established schedule and customer commitments. This person will support the effort in creating a culture of continuous improvement that facilitates effective problem solving, process and product improvement.

    Responsibilities:

    Planning and coordinating replenishment of products in the assigned distribution center. Proactively manages inventory levels to meet customer demand and inventory turns targets.

    Scheduling of shop orders for replenishment of inventory for manufactured items. Acts as backup for planning different manufacturing cells.

    Responsible for all steps required for the irradiation services of sterile products (shop orders, material issuing, purchase orders, transportation scheduling, resolving invoices and transactions discrepancies)

    Negotiates, processes and monitors standard and nonstandard purchase orders to assure on-time delivery, achieve negotiated cost savings and effective inventory management targets.

    Communicates daily, weekly and forecasted requirements with suppliers (Interco and outside Contec) and customer service group.

    Collaborates with Program and Sales Management to obtain customer demand forecasts. Updates and maintain the Sales, Operations & Purchasing (SOP) data for the site in his/her area of responsibility

    Responsible for material planning parameters adjustments and inventory targets based on changes in demand and customer forecast trends.

    Provides assistance to warehouse personnel in organization of intercompany shipments and receipt of in-transit inventory.

    Provides assistance to customer service group by providing availability confirmations for customer orders and adjusting priority schedule with the planner or buyer responsible for replenishment.

    Interfaces with other departments such as Production, Purchasing, Customer Service, Sales,

    Product Management, Warehouse in an effort to meet the customer wanted dates.

    Due to large number of different transactions performed, this position acts as SME for testing and training new ERP updates

    Others may be assigned.

    Requirements:

    Bachelors degree (B.A., B.S.) from four-year college or university; or a minimum of 5 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    3+ years of experience in supply chain area required. Hands on experience with materials transactional flow thru production and company ERP systems. Experience with project management either in a training setting or hands-on preferred. Experience with lean manufacturing is a plus.
