- Assist the Group Teacher in encouraging lifelong thinking and exploration for students through various avenues for developing and consolidating skills in mathematics, writing, reading, and group problem solving
- Assists students and teachers across the grade level with curriculum planning, library conferences, field trips, small group and whole group classroom instruction four days per week
- Collaborate with Group Teachers, Specials Teachers, Specialists, and Division Heads to find ways to integrate instruction with other curricular subjects, namely social studies and Jobs programs
- Assist the Group Teacher in maintaining an equitable and inclusive learning environment
- Communicate effectively and establish strong working partnerships with families, students, colleagues, and administrators
- Assist the Group Teacher in writing reports and conducting Parent/Teacher conferences
- Assist the Group Teacher in providing curriculum updates to Learning Specialists in supporting ongoing education
- Attends weekly Staff Meetings (Wednesdays, 3:30-5:30 p.m.) and monthly Associate Meetings
- Manages Morning Program including Yard and Library duties (M-F 8:00-8:30 a.m.)
- Substitutes for cooperating teachers as needed Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Education or related field
- Prior teaching experience and/or professional field experience is a plus
- Developmental knowledge of and experience with elementary aged children
- Experience developing and revising curriculum with an integrative approach
- Willingness to work in close collaboration with colleagues and children
- Familiarity with project-based, experiential teaching and lesson development
- Commitment to creating a culture of equity and inclusion
- Effective classroom management skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

City and Country School seeks two Middle School Shared Associate Teachers for the 2024–2025 academic year, beginning in late August 2024.
Job Description
The Middle School Associate Teacher reports to the Division Director and is an integral part of the teaching faculty. The Middle School Associate Teacher partners on instruction with an interdisciplinary approach, finding authentic ways to connect course materials to student's understandings of social studies. Our Teachers bring warmth, patience, and understanding to the classroom every day, encouraging children to learn and grow.
