Schedule

12-hour night shifts with an option to pick up extra 8-hour shifts. Every other weekend required.

Job Description

Join a collaborative team as a Medical-Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse, providing essential care to patients with a range of conditions including telemetry, post-operative care, and chronic illnesses. The successful candidate will apply their telemetry skills to monitor and respond to patient needs effectively.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients with medical-surgical conditions while utilizing telemetry.
• Perform NG tube insertion, peripheral IV insertion, and telemetry strip interpretation at the bedside.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and ancillary services to deliver seamless patient care.
• Engage with patients and their families in providing care support and education.
• Assist with the application and interpretation of tele-life monitoring systems.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience; at least 1 year in a telemetry specialty.
• Valid BLS and ACLS certifications, with NIH Stroke Scale certification required before starting.
• Telemetry certification preferred.
• Previous travel experience is required, ideally with two assignments in 300+ bed facilities or experience in a UVMHN acute care facility.
• Epic experience from within the past 2 years is mandatory.
