    Responsibilities

    • As an integral part of the Gen Re Global Life Business Technology team, the Technical Business Analyst will work with cross-functional stakeholders and external clients to understand their business needs and design, build, and operationalize the best-in-class solutions
    • This role is responsible for leading business requirements, analysis and testing phases of a project
    • Technical Business Analyst also contributes to the overall planning, technical design and implementation of a project including process changes
    • The Technical Business Analyst role is expected to work independently on multiple assignments with a sense of urgency, structure, and attention to detail
    • Provide analysis, technical design and planning activities for business and technology initiatives:
    • Determine and define project scope and objectives
    • Perform and document requirements gathering and analysis
    • Design high level technical solutions including frontends, databases and interfaces
    • Facilitate business process changes
    • Manage the product development team to create a strong end product
    • Develop and implement test plans to ensure successful delivery
    • Schedule and lead meetings to identify and correct issues
    • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
    • Prepare solution for deployment including support staffing, documentation, maintenance procedures and training
    • Small to medium size projects
    • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
    • Prepare project budget and track costs
    • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
    • Partner with cross-functional users to maintain and develop high quality solutions in a timely and cost-effective manner
    • Collaborate with internal Technology resources to drive enterprise-wide strategies, procedures, and standards
    • Provide end-users support including business queries and requests
    • Provide technical assistance and cross training to business users and other team members

    Role Description

    Role Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Information Science or related field is preferred. Equivalent combination of experience, education and training will be considered

    • 7 or more years of experience as product owner, business analyst or project manager of software development and BI related projects through the full life cycle required

    • Product Owner and/or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification or equivalent is preferred

    • Knowledge of Insurance or Re-insurance domain preferred

    • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases is preferred

    • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline

    • Strong working knowledge of SDLC and Agile development principles and processes

    • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical terminology, concepts and issues in terms understandable to technical and non-technical management and resource staff
