    Job Description

    The Occupational Therapist will work in a dynamic multi-disciplinary Team to evaluate and create personalized education plans for students with brain injuries or brain-based disorders who are primarily non-verbal and non-ambulatory. An essential part of the role is contributing to research related to the assigned students and the organization. Key qualities include strategic vision, leadership, fostering innovation, effective communication, and result-driven approach.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Evaluate students using clinical assessment tools
    • Set treatment goals based on assessments and parent input
    • Develop and adjust treatment plans as needed
    • Prepare Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
    • Collaborate with the student team and provide education to families
    • Participate in care conferences and team meetings
    • Document treatment and research activities
    • Collaborate with teachers and therapists
    • Engage with parents regularly
    • Utilize innovative teaching methods
    • Attend trainings and assist in staff education
    • Maintain a safe working environment
    • Ensure confidentiality of records
    • Other discipline-specific responsibilities

    Research and Innovation Duties:

    • Submit reports and session notes
    • Participate in educational and research activities
    • Attend meetings and assist in student-specific research
    • Identify knowledge gaps for Continuing Education

    Qualifications:

    • Must have a Washington D.C. License as an Occupational Therapist
    • 2 years of Pediatric Occupational Therapy experience
    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to work in a team and independently
    • Detail-oriented and motivated
    • Research experience and NDT training preferred

    Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m

    Salary Range: $75,000 to $90,000 (based on experience)
