    GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE


    The Field Business Leader (FBL) is responsible for leading through Ulta Beauty's mission, vision, and values to develop high-performing services teams within the district/s that consistently deliver sales growth in hair, skin, boutique, retail sales and services.

    The FBL influences key stakeholders such as but not limited to:

    District Managers (DM), General Managers (GM) and Experience Managers (EM) within district/s to exceed in all aspects of the services business, including services/retail sales, boutique sales guest satisfaction, and operational processes.

    This leader drives district/s performance through a focus on services and retail sales, recruiting and supporting EMs and services professionals, grand openings, guest satisfaction, and GM/EM trainings.

    This position requires a drive for results, a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and the aptitude to learn and teach best practices that promote sales growth, service techniques and product knowledge.

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (*Essential Job Functions)

    The FBL is a champion of Ulta Beauty's mission, vision, and values, and should demonstrate them skillfully and consistently by performing the following duties and responsibilities (as well as all other projects/duties as assigned):

    Performance


    • Meet or exceed district/s goals related to services, boutique and retail sales, guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
    • Achieve incremental sales growth, sales per labor hour (SPHL) and average ticket improvement year over year.
    • Support the DMs and GMs in coaching, developing, and retaining the EMs.
    • Support stores in managing productivity within payroll through reviewing metrics and coaching of people.
    • Support the execution of district/s salon and boutique events that deliver an unrivaled guest experience.
    • Review and interpret financial and operational reporting, including store visits and audit results.
    • Identify underperforming metrics and missing sales opportunities and develop strategies that leverage company programs, tools, and resources to improve and grow the business.
    • Act as subject matter expert and support partner to Service District Educators, DMs, GMs, and EMs within the district/s through sharing of best practices that promote overall sales growth.
    • Support new store grand openings within district/s.
    People


    • Support attracting, sourcing, hiring, and retaining a diverse team of EMs, service professionals and boutique positions for the district/s while teaching GMs and EMs how to network and recruit.
    • Train, coach and develop the EMs and ensure they are executing monthly Goal Setting meetings with service professionals.
    • Create an environment that inspires and encourages the growth and engagement of service professionals and boutique positions.
    • Establish professional partner relationships that foster a shared interest in collaboratively delivering on sales goals.
    • Participate in Inclusive Interviewing for EM openings.
    • Facilitate EM onboarding and GM onboarding (the services portion of Ultamate Pathways).
    Process


    • Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty's policies, procedures, and standards.
    • Regularly visit all stores in the FBL's district.
    • Teach Services teams how to create and adjust schedules that support service sales growth.
    • Teach teams how to manage salon supply inventory, including ordering product, managing orders within allocated budget and ensuring products necessary for services are on hand.
    • Follow-up with teams to ensure they are using the company's task management tool to prioritize and execute store workload, including product and marketing resets, pricing updates, inventory related tasks, cleaning, and replenishment.
    • Protect company assets and minimize loss by ensuring all store standards and operating procedures are met, including workplace safety, inventory control, and loss prevention.
    • Support continuous improvement by implementing company programs and influencing end-user adoption.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS
    Education


    • Bachelor's degree is preferred
    Experience


    • 5 years relevant work experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
    • Financial management: success with driving top-line sales, interpreting reporting data and turning insight into action, managing payroll budgets, and controlling expense
    • Advanced competency in salon sales, product and services
    • Demonstrated knowledge of State Board of Cosmetologists regulations and hiring requirements
    • Leadership management: experience with attracting, developing, and motivating top talent, influencing priorities, swiftly adapting to change, leading others through the change-curve, developing collaborative relationships with others, and leading and influencing
    Skills


    • Proficient with basic technology (e.g., POS system, Microsoft Office programs, and Apple devices)
    • Strong business acumen
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills
    • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks
    • Ability to react under pressure, use good judgment in ambiguous situations, and be flexible/adaptable

    SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    • Work a flexible, full-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
    • Local and/or overnight travel on average three days per week or more
    • Attend offsite meetings (may require overnight travel)

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    • Continuous mobility throughout the store on a daily basis
    • Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.
    • Frequent and/or continuous sitting, reaching, and twisting
    • Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift
    • Frequent use of a computer, telephonic devices, and related office supplies
