- Database developer will be responsible for the following:
- Creating data pipeline that will populate cloud-based data warehouse solution.
- Management, maintenance, and further development of data warehouse.
- Development of tableau reports that leverage the data warehouse data.
- Assistance with architecting and supervising the design of the data warehouse.
- Educating the remainder of the data management team in theory, usage, maintenance and development of data warehouse.
- Database developer will also assume database administrator role with responsibilities up to and including:
- Upgrades of existing SQL Server environments
- Assistance with database portion of application upgrade releases (may include overnight work 2-3 days a year).
- Implementation of SQL Server security best practices
- Performance tuning of stored procedures, views and T-SQL statements.
- Monitoring and maintenance of existing SQL Server environment
- Database developer may also be called upon to assist with projects within Full Sail's AWS cloud environment. Services utilized include but are not limited to the following:
- DMS
- S3
- IAM
- RDS
- Glue
- Athena
- Data warehouse technologies such as AWS Redshift or SQL Server Analysis Services
- T-SQL
- SQL Server
- ETL: SQL Server Integration Services as well as Cloud based ETL tools such as Glue and DMS.
- Strong Documentation Skills
- AWS or other cloud-based experience.
- 5-7 years working with data warehouses
- AWS Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional) or other similar certification
- AWS Developer Associate or similar certification.
- Proficiency using the following software programs:
- SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
- SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Microsoft Suite: MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Programming Language: JavaScript, C# or Python

The Database Developer is responsible for working with clients to design and implement data driven solutions in a logical and functional manner. They will be responsible for developing scripts, ETL processes, functions, and stored procedures as well as cloud-based deliverables. This role will assist in evaluating, designing, reviewing, and implementing data driven solutions in support of clients and the Data Management team. Database Developer will serve as a backup Database Administrator for the DBA team and will be responsible for leading the creation and management of new Data Warehouse Initiative.
