DESCRIPTION
Otterbein University is looking for a qualified Digital and Web Services Librarian to oversee the management, preservation, and distribution of the university's digital content in the institutional repository. This role involves managing library web services and website content. Join as an exempt Staff with Faculty Rank Librarian.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership and manage policy and planning activities for the university's digital collections infrastructure
- Collaborate with various departments to establish partnerships and secure funding for digitization projects
- Assist university programs in utilizing institutional repository materials for research and teaching
- Support scholarly communications services and initiatives to enhance campus awareness of research impact
- Curate metadata and workflows for digital content discovery and management
- Administer library web operations, including page development, maintenance, and training
- Offer general and specialized reference services, supervise library shifts, and participate in information literacy programs
- Act as a liaison for designated departments, providing instructional support and consultation on scholarly communications
QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, candidates must possess an MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited library school and at least one year of relevant experience in an academic library setting. Supervisor experience is desirable. Proficiency in digitization standards and technologies such as DSpace and familiarity with digital publishing tools is required. Understanding of digital scholarship and information literacy practices is a plus.
