    Mine Electrical Engineer

    Are you an Electrical Engineer with leadership experience looking for an opportunity to bring your knowledge and skills to our mine based in Penrith, Cumbria? We are a dual method site, using both blasting and mechanised techniques in which to extract our raw materials, and this is an exciting opportunity to grow with British Gypsum and our wider business.



    Responsibilities:

    Manage the electrical engineering responsibilities at our mine in Kirkby Thore, Penrith.

    Help deliver capex projects, ensure the integrity, safety, reliability, and efficiency of our equipment.

    Ensure the electrical systems within our mines are designed, installed, and tested effectively.

    Manage a team of four electricians and an electrical apprentice.


    Requirements:

    What we're looking for:
    A qualified Electrical Engineer with a Level III, HNC, HND or degree level qualification or equivalent.

    Technical and management experience either in mining or an environment where your skills can be transferable.

    A strategic mindset with a focus on Continuous Improvement.

    An inspirational leader with fantastic team building qualities.

    Financially astute, you'll be forecasting future requirements and be integral in preparing annual budgets.

    Knowledge of understanding programme logic relating to automation.

    Responsibilities:


    Lead and motivate the Mine maintenance team to find new approaches and new technology for cost-effective and reliable solutions to existing known problems.


    Work with mine engineers to assist in the development of maintenance practices and the use of CMMS systems for project items.

    Ensure the equipment and systems are installed and maintained to the correct standards, demonstrating compliance with current legislation.

    Identify system improvements and implement change, making plans to replace obsolete equipment.


    You'll be spending 70% of your time above ground but the remainder underground in our mine so must be confident with underground working.
