Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) Teacher to inspire and nurture young learners in their early childhood education journey. As a VPK Teacher, you will create a vibrant, engaging classroom environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development. Your role is vital in preparing children for kindergarten by fostering a love of learning through innovative lesson planning, effective classroom management, and personalized instruction. Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, exploration, and positive behavior management.
- Conduct assessments to monitor each child's progress and tailor instruction to meet individual developmental needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention support.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development milestones, including toddler care and Montessori-based methods.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians through regular communication about child welfare, progress reports, and developmental goals.
- Manage classroom routines efficiently to foster a structured learning environment conducive to active participation and learning.
- Incorporate standardized testing and tutoring strategies to support literacy education and overall academic readiness for kindergarten.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings, with a minimum of one year of classroom experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Certification or training in early childhood education or preschool teaching credentials required; familiarity with Montessori methods is a plus.
- Ability to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development best practices across multiple domains such as math, literacy, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community partners.
- Experience working with children requiring special education or early intervention services is highly desirable.
