General Summary:
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides direct speech and language therapy services to children with autism and related developmental delays in a clinic and/or school-based setting.
The SLP focuses on functional communication, language development, articulation, pragmatics, AAC, and caregiver collaboration while working as part of an interdisciplinary team.
This role is primarily a direct service, floor-based position.Administrative responsibilities are limited to clinical documentation, data collection, participation in treatment planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration necessary to support effective service delivery.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Oversight
Supports the organization's mission, goals, and clinical values through ethical, evidence-based speech and language services.
Provides direct speech and language therapy to assigned members across clinic and/or academy settings.
Implements treatment goals as outlined in approved treatment plans, using developmentally appropriate and neurodiversity-affirming practices.
Collaborates with ABA staff and interdisciplinary team members to align speech and language goals with broader treatment objectives.
Uses data collection and ongoing assessment to inform clinical decision-making and adjust interventions as needed.
Maintains an appropriate direct treatment caseload in accordance with scheduling and program expectations.
Quality Assurance
Delivers services in compliance with ASHA standards, state licensure requirements, and applicable funding and payer guidelines.
Completes clinical documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
Monitors member progress and communicates concerns, barriers, or recommendations to the supervising Lead SLP or Program Director as appropriate.
Participates in clinical reviews, supervision, and feedback processes to support service quality and professional growth.
Collaboration and Family Engagement
Establishes and maintains professional, collaborative relationships with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members.
Communicates effectively with caregivers regarding progress, strategies, and recommendations within scope of role.
Participates in team meetings, case conferences, and treatment plan reviews related to assigned members.
Supports skill generalization by collaborating with staff across settings when appropriate.
Other
Maintains an approved schedule and acceptable level of attendance. This position requires full-time onsite requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned or necessary as they relate to the general nature of the position.
Performs designated staff evaluations and/or discipline.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education Required:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
Minimum Experience Required:
Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Experience providing speech-language services to children with developmental delays and/or autism.
License Requirement:
Current Arizona Speech-Language Pathology license issued by the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS).
BH Level:
BHP
Preferred Education:
Additional training, certifications, or coursework in areas such as early intervention, AAC, pediatric feeding, or neurodiversity-affirming practices.
Preferred Experience:
Experience delivering direct speech and language therapy services in a pediatric, clinic-based, school-based, or multidisciplinary setting.
REGULATORY:
Valid AZ DPS Level I fingerprint clearance card (must maintain valid card throughout employment)
CPR, First Aid, AED certification, if required (must maintain throughout employment).
Current, valid Driver's License and 39-month Motor Vehicle Report and proof of vehicle registration liability insurance to meet insurance requirements
Initial current negative TB test result, if required (Employer provides).
Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
