    RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    The Global Markets Operational Risk and Resilience team is responsible for oversight of Operational Risk (across Sales, Trading, Engineering and Operations), Supervision, Conduct, Control Remediation, and Business Resiliency for the Global Markets Division.

    The focus of the Operational Resilience team is the manage, monitor and reduce operational risks associated with business disruption that arise within the end-to-end activities of the Global Markets Division.

    We are recruiting a New York based mid-level VP (+7 years experience) to join the Global Markets Resiliency Risk team, within the Global Markets Operating Risk organization.

    The Global Markets Operating Risk organization encompasses numerous functions including global management and oversight of Supervisory, Conduct and Operational Controls as well as divisional Technology and Operational Risk, and business resiliency and continuity planning. The organization spans 10 offices across the globe.

    Within the Global Markets Operating Risk organization, the Operational Resilience team is accountable for (1) pre-emptively identifying and mitigating threats to operating Resiliency Objectives that are established for each of the divisions major commercial functions including Global Markets Sales and Trading, Operations and Engineering, and (2) preparedness for, and risk management of, incidents that may impact those objectives. The team partner closely with the other specialist resilience and business continuity teams across the firm.

    The Resiliency Manager is responsible for driving initiatives to reduce risk and improve resiliency throughout the Global Markets front-to-back organization, ensuring effective recovery plans are in place and in compliance with the firms overall resiliency strategies for effective continuity of operations in crisis events, to reduce resiliency risk and validate recovery strategies. In this capacity the Resiliency Manager will work closely with Resiliency Risk leadership to set strategic direction, design and implement business continuity plans for functions and people across the division. Working closely with Engineering Infrastructure, Risk Management, Corporate Services (CWS) teams to coordinate (plan) and ensure the smooth execution of continuity plans during events such as a pandemic, crisis scenarios, recovery and testing as well as work on projects to improve the effectiveness of such programs across Americas region as well as drive global projects as required.

    Key objectives for the Resiliency Risk team are:

    • Drive efforts around education, awareness and adoption of the Business Resiliency Risk program within the Global Markets Division
    • Engagement of business units in risk awareness, tracking, resilience decisions and planning. Additionally, influence firmwide team in building frameworks that improve overall risk / resilience management
    • Maintain strong relationships with the Core-4 groups across Technology, OGS Crisis Management and Corporate Workplace Solutions (CWS) to facilitate robust planning, solutions and controls
    • Support existing governance roles in resilience and risk committees, to ensure good engagement in threat awareness, exercises, testing, assurance and other awareness, planning and mitigation activities Day to day task/project management and contributing to projects designed to introduce/improve processes and tools to enhance the firms risk management and recovery capabilities
    • Partner with Resilience teams in Operations and Engineering within Global Markets
    • Perform annual BCP tests on internal and industry drills to exercises and maintain test documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements
    • Partner with Operational Risk, Internal Audit and other Risk Partners to ensure regulatory requirements are being met and comply with the firms resiliency strategy
    • Act as a trusted advisor to business divisions for business resilience, providing appropriate guidance, business simulations and training on tools and risk mitigation strategies
    • Liaise with other Divisions, such Compliance, Legal, Risk and Internal Audit

    SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WERE LOOKING FOR

    Basic Qualifications

    • Experience in driving and shaping program strategy as well as the implementation of program uplift and change
    • An understanding of any one, or more, of the following risk and or program management related functions; operational resilience, technology resilience, operational risk, program management, controls monitoring, risk assurance and risk governance
    • Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, problem solving, organizational and time management skills
    • Self-motivated with an ability to work on ones own with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
    • Highly organized, strong attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills
    • Excellent influencing skills at all levels and the ability to develop and maintain good relationships with senior leadership, colleagues and clients
    • Strong process and project management skills with the ability to improve process efficiency and effectiveness
    • Able to apply knowledge and experience in decision-making to arrive at creative and commercial solutions for the business
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to summarize complicated technical information to people with less technical knowledge
