    Description

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is looking for skilled and dedicated individuals to join their team as Deputy Sheriffs. If you have a strong background in law enforcement and excellent communication abilities, we want to hear from you!

    JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must have been certified as a basic police officer for a minimum of eighteen months within the last five years
    • Minimum age requirement of 21 years at the time of hire
    • U.S. citizenship or eligibility for citizenship within eighteen months of hire
    • Clear criminal record without major convictions
    • Ability to perform effectively in stressful situations
    • Effective oral and written communication skills
    • High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor's degree preferred)
    • Successfully pass necessary exams and background checks
    • Valid driver's license with a good driving record

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Patrol assigned areas to enforce laws and ensure public safety
    • Investigate criminal activities, accidents, and disturbances
    • Make arrests and transport offenders as needed
    • Prepare detailed reports for legal and departmental use

    SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

    Knowledge of: State and County laws, police procedures, investigative techniques

    Skills to: Use police equipment, conduct investigations, analyze information, drive safely, follow orders, communicate effectively

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Deputy Sheriffs work a four-day, ten-hour shift schedule in the Patrol Division.
