    As a member of the Productivity Office, the Specialist will partner with Northern Trust's business units in the execution of corporate development transactions, the analysis and governance of investment initiatives, and the analysis of technology capital expenditures.

    The Specialist will have the opportunity to develop and implement industry leading financial metrics and processes to improve productivity across the organization and the creation of accurate and timely information for executive decision making.

    As an experienced member of the Productivity Office, the Specialist, will be in a position to influence the financial performance of the organization working across several pillars within the Productivity Office, including investment, technology capital, workforce and vendor strategy and analytics.

    This is a unique opportunity for an experienced financial and technology savvy professional to join a dynamic team in an established global financial institution, implementing industry leading governance processes and financial metrics across the organization.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Partner with a senior member of the Productivity Office to lead the investment governance and analytics pillar of the Productivity Office, including defining projects under scope and partnering with business leads and the firms's CFO to understand the financial performance and strategic fit of projects under review
    • Responsible for leading the development of reporting tools to analyze the financial performance of key Productivity Office pillars
    • Create financial models and return metrics to estimate the value and performance of equity investments
    • Develop financial performance metrics for the technology capital portfolio and project execution
    • Communicate findings and analytics to senior and executive management across the organization
    • Mentor junior analysts on the execution of corporate development initiatives and the ongoing monitoring of investment performance

    Experience

    • Bachelors degree in finance or accounting
    • 8+ years of experience in a financial analysis role such as financial planning and analysis or corporate development
    • MBA, CFA and/or CPA a plus

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Excellent finance and/or accounting skills
    • Experience with data management and analysis
    • Ability to interpret data and communicate data analysis in business terms
    • Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to communicate with partners across all levels of the organization
    • Strong relationship building and management skills required to work with partners in finance and across business units
    • Ability to manage competing priorities
    • Advanced Excel, VBA, PowerPoint, PowerBi and Tableau skills
    • Working knowledge of Capital IQ, Factset
