    Sambatek, LLC is a professional services firm specializing in engineering, planning, land surveying, and environmental services. We serve public and private clients nationwide with office locations in Minnesota, Texas, and North Carolina.

    The Survey CAD Technician Role

    We are seeking an experienced Survey CAD Technician (II or III, LSIT) to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing boundary and topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, subdivision plats, parcel and easement descriptions, and tree inventory surveys.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Efficiently plan and prepare CAD drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D
    • Perform research and gather data for new and ongoing projects
    • Process and interpret survey data collected in the field
    • Create and interpret 3D surface models
    • Read and interpret property legal descriptions, easements, and plats
    • Maintain and organize digital and paper survey records
    • Collaborate with planners, project managers, and engineers regarding projects
    • Interact daily with field crews and provide direction and support for ongoing projects

    Requirements

    • 3-5+ years of survey-related AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
    • General knowledge of field survey procedures and equipment
    • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Earth Pro

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Associate's degree in a land surveying-related field and/or formal CAD training
    • Land Surveyor In Training
    • Experience with Trimble Business Center
    • MicroStation and ArcGIS experience
    • Previous survey field crew experience
    • Understand construction plans and general construction principals
    • Experience with aerial photo and lidar data processing and extraction

    Work Environment

    This role can be performed remotely and may require occasional travel to office locations. Ability to move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds.
