Position Summary
The Summer Finance Intern will support the Finance team with day-to-day financial and accounting activities while gaining hands-on experience in a professional business environment.
This entry-level position is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in finance, accounting, or business and provides exposure to core financial processes, analysis, and reporting.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with routine accounting and financial tasks such as data entry, reconciliations, and documentation
Support monthly close activities, including preparing schedules and reports
Help analyze financial data and identify trends, variances, or discrepancies
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling as needed
Support accounts payable and/or accounts receivable processes
Prepare and maintain spreadsheets and basic financial reports
Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analyses
Maintain organized financial records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and attend team meetings
Qualifications
Required:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
Strong interest in finance and accounting principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Word and PowerPoint
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Ability to handle confidential information professionally
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
Prior coursework in accounting or finance
Familiarity with financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)
Experience with financial systems or ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) a plus, but not required
