    This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits, including health insurance, paid vacation, paid sick time, paid holidays, as well as retirement.

    The selected candidate may be selected to work any shift and will work weekends and holidays to ensure 24/7 staff coverage.

    This position is located at Anson Correctional Institution, Polkton, NC in Anson County.


    This facility houses female offenders in close and medium custody housing units and male offenders in a minimum custody unit.

    The facility offers a wide variety of educational, vocational, and training programs for men and women.

    Correction Enterprises operates the offender packaging operation at Anson, a partnership with Union Supply Direct through the Prison Industry Enhancement Program (PIE).

    Family and friends can order a package of goods from a pre-approved shopping list to send to an offender. Orders are packaged by offenders and shipped quarterly.

    This position will report to the Warden. This position manages the program services at Anson Correctional Institution.


    Duties include:

    • Overseeing the programs section which provides a large variety of programs services to the offender population to include case management; chaplaincy services; treatment and rehabilitation programs; volunteer programs; transitional services.
    • Responsible for directly supervising managers from a wide range of disciplines to include health services, behavioral health and programs.
    • Establishing operating procedures and standards for all program services.
    • Managing the offender classification process at the facility.
    • Ongoing training of staff in areas under his/her supervision
    • Participating as a member of the Executive Management Team for planning, development and management of the facility

    Note to Current State Employees:
    The salary grade for this position is NC14 ($49,158 - $86,026).

    State employees are encouraged to apply for positions of interest even if the salary grade is the same as, or lower than, their current position.

    If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity.

    Based upon these factors, a pay increase MAY result.

    Bachelor s degree in a human services or criminal justice field and four years of experience in correctional programs management work;

    Necessary Special Qualifications:
    Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.
